A beautiful and superbly equipped cottage and furnished to a very high standard. Zoe was a magnificent host, very friendly and welcoming. Absolutely nothing to find fault with at all.
We couldn’t fault the accommodation. It was beautiful, even my 3 year old said as we walked through the front door.
Zoe met us upon arrival after she had gone to the local town to purchase some local goods for us – fresh farm bought cows milk, homemade biscuits and crisps.
It genuinely was home from home.
Everything was made easy, clear instructions, lots of crockery and cutlery. Things we had bought from home but didn’t need them. Zoe literally had thought of everything.
There were two different families staying in the house, both with children and the sleeping arrangements was perfect. The house layout was fab too.
There is lots to do locally plus within a short drive even more.
We would highly recommend Zoe’s place and would love to go back to explore even more of the area.
From the moment of booking Zoe (our host) was friendly and helpful. She responded to any messages in a prompt manner and was highly flexible regarding meeting up for check in.
She gave advice on places to eat and made us feel extremely welcome.
We had a great weekend here and felt immediately at home. Sad to leave but would definitely book to stay here again.
We highly recommend the old forge cottage to anyone wanting a well presented home away from home in the Ross area.
Six adults and a Beagle stayed at Old Forge Cottage for a birthday celebration weekend. It was perfect for our needs and is one of the nicest places we have stayed in.
It is in a great location for exploring Ross-on-Wye and very convenient for the local Parkrun, countryside walks and all the nearby coffee shops and restaurants.
The house is spacious, very well equipped and very attractively decorated and very comfortably furnished. It was great having an enclosed garden that the dog could use.
Zoe was a great host, very communicative and gave us lots of information and helpful suggestions.
We always stay in this beautiful home when we stay in Ross on Wye! The house is nothing short of perfect! Awesome location…..all walkable….everything you would want! Zoe is always there if you need her but honestly, it is so well setup and comfortable, you won’t need a thing. It is wonderful!!! A home away from home!!!
What a wonderful place to stay!
The Old Forge Cottage has been tastefully renovated with great attention to detail. It is equipped with everything you may need and everywhere is spotlessly clean. There is a nice little outside space where we barbecued one evening.
The location is excellent with easy access to the cafes and restaurants of Ross and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Zoe, the owner met us on arrival and was easily contactable if we needed her.
There cannot be a better place in Ross on Wye to stay. Just perfect!
We had a fantastic stay at The Old Forge Cottage. It’s a lovely light and airy home, close to the centre of Ross. The open plan seating/dining area, four bedrooms and extra sitting room mean that there is plenty of space for extended family to spend time together but not feel on top of one another. The cottage has been tastefully and sensitively renovated and is very well equipped. We particularly appreciated the welcoming touches of milk, coffee, biscuits and apple juice – all locally sourced. We would definitely come again!
Celebrating family birthdays – 80 and 1 – we were 6 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and 1 Frenchie.
Without doubt, we all agreed this was the best holiday home we have stayed in.
The cottage was so spacious, all rooms beautifully furnished and a sun trap garden at rear.
Location perfect for walks in lovely town and riverside and the gorgeous Wye Valley.

Cottage is perfect in all respects, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Very conveniently situated for walking into Ross and driving to local attractions. We had 8 family members staying (age range 14 to 72 plus Buddy the Daschsund!) and the cottage was perfect. Would definitely consider booking again!
Beautiful dog friendly cottage, very well equipped for a family group/friends or a couple. Quality fixtures, furniture and linens. The location is perfect for exploring the town which has many delightful pubs, restaurants and cafes. The parking arrangements are a real bonus, park outside the front door using the supplied permit or in the designated parking space a few metres away .Ross on Wye is a lovely town to visit, antique shops are plentiful and riverside walks to enjoy. It is also well placed to visit Ledbury, Malvern, The Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat.
