Wow!
Zoe met us at the cottage and gave us a great welcome. The cottage is beautiful and has evrything you will need. It was spotless and everything wa high quality. The beds and bed linen were beautiful.Plenty of everything at the cottage, really well thought of. We had a chilled weekend and loved our stay. we will definitely be returning!
We couldn’t fault the accommodation. It was beautiful, even my 3 year old said ‘Wow!’ as we walked through the front door.
Zoe met us upon arrival after she had gone to the local town to purchase some local goods for us – fresh farm bought cows milk, homemade biscuits and crisps.
It genuinely was home from home.
Everything was made easy, clear instructions, lots of crockery and cutlery. Things we had bought from home but didn’t need them. Zoe literally had thought of everything.
There were two different families staying in the house, both with children and the sleeping arrangements was perfect. The house layout was fab too.
There is lots to do locally plus within a short drive even more.
We would highly recommend Zoe’s place and would love to go back to explore even more of the area.
From the moment of booking Zoe (our host) was friendly and helpful. She responded to any messages in a prompt manner and was highly flexible regarding meeting up for check in.
She gave advice on places to eat and made us feel extremely welcome.
We had a great weekend here and felt immediately at home. Sad to leave but would definitely book to stay here again.
We highly recommend the old forge cottage to anyone wanting a well presented home away from home in the Ross area.
Six adults and a Beagle stayed at Old Forge Cottage for a birthday celebration weekend. It was perfect for our needs and is one of the nicest places we have stayed in.
It is in a great location for exploring Ross-on-Wye and very convenient for the local Parkrun, countryside walks and all the nearby coffee shops and restaurants.
The house is spacious, very well equipped and very attractively decorated and very comfortably furnished. It was great having an enclosed garden that the dog could use.
Zoe was a great host, very communicative and gave us lots of information and helpful suggestions.
Thank you for the most fantastic stay at Old Forge Cottgae. We had a wonderful time celebrating a 60th birthday. The cottage is so well equipped and kept spotlessly clean and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches for doggy and human guests alike! Thanks so much Zoe for being an excellent host, we hope to stay again!
What a wonderful place to stay!
The Old Forge Cottage has been tastefully renovated with great attention to detail. It is equipped with everything you may need and everywhere is spotlessly clean. There is a nice little outside space where we barbecued one evening.
The location is excellent with easy access to the cafes and restaurants of Ross and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Zoe, the owner met us on arrival and was easily contactable if we needed her.
There cannot be a better place in Ross on Wye to stay. Just perfect!
It was nearly worth my husband having Covid last year and us having to cancel our trip to the UK just so we could rent your cottage this year! Absolutely could not fault it!
Celebrating family birthdays – 80 and 1 – we were 6 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and 1 Frenchie.
Without doubt, we all agreed this was the best holiday home we have stayed in.
The cottage was so spacious, all rooms beautifully furnished and a sun trap garden at rear.
Location perfect for walks in lovely town and riverside and the gorgeous Wye Valley.

The Old Forge Cottage was beautiful. The location was great with parking for 2 cars. Easy to reach local attractions and plenty of walks close by. Zoe was a great host. Her home was beautiful and she’d thought of everything. Lots of little details which were really appreciated. Lovely open plan area, ideal for families like ours meeting up to spend time together. Bedrooms and bathrooms very clean and comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
.Wonderful holiday cottage, spacious, comfy – has everything we needed. The local Art work is wonderful… kids would have brought more! Zoe was quick to respond and helpful. Great location, loved Ross and all the quirky unique shops.
Our extended family of five adults and two children felt very at home in Old Forge Cottage. It’s a beautifully furnished, comfortable, cottage style house, and probably the most thoughtfully equipped holiday let we’ve ever stayed in. I was particularly thankful for the discovery of two dog bowls when we realised we’d left ours at home.
