What time can we check in and check out?
Check-in is usually after 4:00 PM but earlier check in’s are often available , and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Please contact Zoe Williams the day before arrival to arrange key collection.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is one designated off-street parking space 20 metres away and one on-street parking space with a provided permit. Additional parking is available less than a minute’s walk away in a long-stay car park for £2.50/24 hours.
Is the cottage suitable for families with young children?
Yes! The cottage is very family-friendly with safety features including stair gates (top and bottom), a travel cot, high chair, potty and plastic dining sets. There’s also a secure walled garden perfect for children to play in.
Can we bring our dogs?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 dogs) for an additional charge of £15 per dog. Dog bowls and old towels are provided. Dogs must be kept downstairs, off furniture, and should not be left unattended in the cottage.
What’s included in the rental price?
The rental includes all utilities, bed linens, towels (bath and hand towel per person), kitchen essentials, and starter packs of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom).
How many bedrooms does the cottage have?
The cottage has 4 bedrooms spread across two floors: two king-size bedrooms (one with en-suite), one twin room, and one king-size bedroom in the converted attic space. It can accommodate up to 8 guests plus an infant.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Cancellations more than 6 weeks before arrival forfeit the deposit only. Cancellations 4-6 weeks before incur a 50% charge, while cancellations within 4 weeks are liable for the full amount. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes, a £100 security deposit is required with the final balance payment. This is refunded within a week of departure, assuming no damages or exceptional cleaning is required.
What are the payment terms?
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to secure the booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before arrival. For bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival, the full amount is payable immediately.
Is there WiFi and entertainment available?
Yes, the cottage has free WIFI, two smart TVs – one in the main lounge (55″) and another in the snug. There’s also a DVD player in the snug.
What cooking facilities are available?
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric double oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, 4-slice toaster, and kettle, plus all necessary cookware and utensils.
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, there’s a washing machine available, along with an airer and ironing facilities, located behind a door in the downstairs WC.
How many bathrooms are there?
There are 2.5 bathrooms: a main bathroom with freestanding bath and over-bath shower, an en-suite shower room to one bedroom, and a downstairs WC.
What’s the minimum stay?
For flexible stays, the minimum is 3 nights. During high season, bookings are typically Friday to Friday, but weekend and mid-week bookings are available throughout the year.
Is smoking allowed?
No, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the cottage. Violation of this rule will result in the loss of your security deposit.
What’s special about the location?
The cottage is located in Ross-on-Wye, minutes from the riverside, tea shops, and pubs. It’s ideally situated for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and Symonds Yat, with great walking, cycling, and canoeing options nearby.
Is there outdoor space?
Yes, there’s a secure courtyard garden with original cobblestones, a small lawn, planted borders, and a patio area with dining table and 8 chairs. A charcoal BBQ is provided (bring your own charcoal).
Can you arrange special services?
Yes! The owners can arrange various services including beauty treatments at the cottage, catered meals, and outdoor activities like laser clays and paintball, and local hampers etc. Just ask when booking.
Is bedding provided for the travel cot?
No, while a travel cot with base sheet is available, you’ll need to bring your own cot bedding.
Are there any welcome provisions?
Yes, you’ll find fresh farm milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, and local biscuits to help you settle in after your journey.
